4D Freight's existing IT environment relied on ageing infrastructure, traditional identity management, and legacy remote access solutions that no longer aligned with the needs of a modern business.
Key project objectives included:
- Moving critical business systems to Microsoft Azure
- Delivering secure and reliable access for staff
- Modernising identity and device management through Microsoft Entra ID
- Maintaining existing printing, scanning, and email workflows
- Retiring ageing server infrastructure
- Ensuring backup and recovery processes were fully tested and validated

Our solution
iTops delivered a phased migration focused on improving security, reliability and operational efficiency.
A new Azure environment was deployed to host key business systems, including Sapphire, while Microsoft Entra ID was implemented to strengthen identity security and simplify device management. Azure Backup was configured and tested to improve business continuity and disaster recovery readiness.
Legacy infrastructure was retired, network services were modernised, and all changes were carefully planned and tested alongside key stakeholders to ensure a smooth transition with minimal disruption.
Today, 4D Freight operates on a secure cloud-based platform that is easier to manage, more resilient, and better aligned with the needs of a modern business.
